  • Logistics Management: Take full responsibility for managing the hire and off-hire of all necessary
    plant and equipment.
  • Multi-Site Coordination: Coordinate plant requirements for both works at the Driffield facility and
at the various construction sites across the UK where our teams are operating.
  • Cost & Efficiency: Negotiate competitive rates with plant suppliers and ensure equipment is off-
hired promptly to minimise unnecessary costs.
  • Compliance: Ensure all hired plant meets required safety standards and is certified for use on all
    relevant sites.

Supply Chain and Stakeholder Management

  • Supplier Relations: Maintain and enhance relationships with our established supply chain (for
materials and plant hire), ensuring transparency regarding current and future build program
    requirements.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly review supplier performance, pricing, quality, and
commitment to sustainability to ensure the best value for the business.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates on purchasing and plant management progress, potential
risks, and cost savings opportunities to senior management.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Buyer, ideally within the Modular Construction, M&E, or Manufacturing
sectors – other sectors will also be considered.
  • Demonstrable experience managing plant hire logistics and contracts across multiple remote
sites would be preferable but is not essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage complex procurement and logistics
    schedules.
  • Proficiency in interpreting Bill of Materials (BOMs) and technical specifications.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Competence in using Microsoft product suite

The successful candidate will be an individual who:

  • Takes Ownership: Is proactive, highly self-motivated, and demonstrates a strong sense of
accountability for deadlines and results across both material and plant procurement.
  • Is Detail-Oriented: Possesses exceptional attention to detail, maintaining accuracy when
managing complex BOMs, purchase orders, and multi-site logistics schedules.
  • Is an Effective Communicator: Can confidently and clearly liaise with suppliers, internal
estimating teams, manufacturing staff in Driffield, and on-site project managers across the UK.
