We have developed pre-assembled plumbing backboards to enable the plumbing team to construct the boards off site. This work takes three hours to complete traditionally; now we are able to install the boards within 15 minutes. This drastically reduces Enlight10’s presence inside the module and enables other trades to have safe access to the units. We also worked with the vanity manufacturers to ensure that the vanity can easily be installed without any reworks or damage to the backboard or vanity.

Pre-assembled back boards
Wiring looms
We worked with a loom provider to come up with a pre-wired distribution board and dado trunking detail for the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) units. This has now been completely designed and is being installed as standard in all our MOJ Rapid Deployment Cell units. We have also designed a loom solution for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) temporary accommodation units. By using this solution, we have estimated to comfortably increase daily production by 50%.
Auto-formed pipes
We are looking at using auto-formed pipes to be installed throughout the modules. All auto-formed pipes are designed specifically for each project to ensure the highest quality, without deviation from the design. With traditional piping, every time a direction change is required a coupling is used, which creates a potential weak point and point of failure. With auto-formed pipes, one continuous pipe is used and is bent at the required length to the required angle. This process means there are no joints and therefore eliminates the possibility of a leak where a joint would traditionally be.
Risers
Here at Enlight10 we are committed to developing our off-site capabilities by manufacturing pre-assembled service risers. By working closely with our supply chain and in-house designers, we aim to standardise where possible. This standardisation would allow us to increase factory and, crucially, site productivity to ensure we hit tight programmes and continue to deliver for our clients.
Bathroom pods
We have, alongside our supply chain, developed a bathroom pod for our MOD single living accommodation en suite bathrooms. By manufacturing these off site, we have greatly reduced the amount of factory processes and increased factory productivity. The pre-manufactured pod eliminates painting and decorating, plumbing, electrical, ceiling installation and tiling from the factory floor. It also gives a uniform standard of finish and has reduced factory programmes by several days.
